Contrary to controversy surrounding her latest release, “Bionic,” Christina Aguilera has the utmost respect for Lady Gaga and any other hard-working female artist.
“I’ve always done what I’ve done as far as push boundaries and take risks. … I think now more than ever, it’s being accepted to do those kinds of things. So more power to her,” Aguilera said of Gaga this week. “And she’s obviously a hard-working, focused young woman. And I have nothing but respect for that work ethic.”
Admitting that she’d probably “get along” well with Lady Gaga, since they have yet to meet, Aguilera says comparisons don’t phase her as much as they used to.
“I’m no stranger to comparisons in this business and being pit(ted) up against other female artists unfairly,” she says.
“Bionic,” her first album since 2006s “Back To Basics” is now available in stores and at digital retailers.
