Rumor has it that Christina Aguilera will be receiving the NCLR Special Achievement awards during the 2012 Alma Awards.
Christina is passionate about her work for charity and has raised millions of dollars for multiple different causes throughout her career, such as gay and transgender rights, ending domestic violence and even teaming up with MAC Cosmetics in the ‘Viva Glam’ AIDS campaign.
More recently, she has become the UN Ambassador for the World Food Programme. As of 2010, she had raised over $22 million for hungry children around the world. In a 2011 PSA, Christina says: “As a mother, the idea of children going to bed hungry is unacceptable.”
A huge congratulations to Christina, who is also nominated for Favorite TV Reality, Variety, or Comedy Personality or Act for The Voice.
The ALMA Awards ceremony will be broadcast on September 21st, 8pm ET/PT on NBC.
