SUPERSTAR songbird Christina Aguilera is plotting a new album and wants a touch of British magic.
The 30-year-old, who has been focusing on her role as a judge on US talent show The Voice, is planning a comeback based on Adele’s record-breaking 21 collection.
Talay told me: “Christina gave us a personal brief. It was like a letter saying what she wanted to achieve with her next album.
“She wants this album to be the one which touches people and reflects all the personal experiences she’s been through in the last few years, like motherhood and divorce. “Basically she wants songs that are as big as Beautiful.
“Christina wants to make another Stripped and sees Adele as her new inspiration.
“I’ve written one song for her which is a real track put to a four-by-four beat. It’s like a better version of Leona Lewis’s Collide.”

As Virgin developed material for her launch as a solo artist, Sandé has been in demand to write for a variety of other artists, including Tinie Tempah, Cheryl Cole, Tinchy Stryder and Professor Green.
She has also attracted the interest of the Syco stable – recently she has been writing for Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd and Susan Boyle – and last week Christina Aguilera cut one of her tracks for her next album.
While Sandé’s idols include Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Roberta Flack and Lauryn Hill, much of her material has a distinct Nineties influence, comparable with Massive Attack and Portishead.
“I find it hard to describe my music,” Sandé said. “Lyrics are the most important thing to me. The last two years I have been working on my album but learning my craft, writing for other rappers and singers. It’s an amazing opportunity to write for other people.”
Her material is lavished with string instruments, brass sections and trip hop beats, underlying Sandé’s soaring vocals.
Much of the production is being handled by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) who has been setting up musicians around Sandé to record live. Also involved are Mike Spencer (Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue) and Naughty Boy.
The first single is the feel-good summer track Heaven (released August 15).

The Billboard 200 is finally heating up after a long spell of lackluster weeks, as three just-released albums are going to make big bows on the tally next week.
“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack is going up against both Christina Aguilera’s first studio release in nearly four years — “Bionic” — and the latest EP from the cast of Fox TV’s “Glee,” “Journey to Regionals.”
Industry prognosticators think “Eclipse” will likely debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with possibly as much as 140,000 to 160,000 copies sold by week’s end on June 13. The last “Twilight” release, “New Moon,” was released
on a Friday and sold 115,000 in just three days, debuting at No. 2. In its first full week, it sold 153,000 and moved to No. 1.
Sources also predict that the “Glee” album might sell around 110,000 to 130,000 while Aguilera’s “Bionic” could move 100,000 to 120,000 copies.
The latter sales projection could change, considering the number of high-profile TV appearances Aguilera has lined up this week. She played NBC’s “Today” yesterday (May 8), and will visit “The Late Show With David Letterman” tonight and “Live With Regis & Kelly” tomorrow (10) She’ll finish up the work week with a Friday (11) visit to CBS’ “Early Show.” On Sunday (13), she’ll be the focus of new episodes of VH1′s “Behind The Music” and “Storytellers.”
Aguilera’s last effort, the 2006 double-length album “Back to Basics,” bowed at No. 1 with 346,000 copies sold. The week of the set’s debut, she was riding high on the Billboard Hot 100 with the top 10 single “Ain’t No Other Man,” the album’s lead track. However, “Bionic’s” first single “Not Myself Tonight” has so far underperformed on the Hot 100, peaking at No. 23 the week of its release back in late April.
Other albums on course to make noteworthy debuts next week on the Billboard 200 include Plies’ “Goon Affiliated,” Dierks Bentley’s “Up On The Ridge,” Jewel’s “Sweet and Wild,” Saving Abel’s “Miss America” and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals’ self-titled album.

FIVE TIME GRAMMY AWARD WINNING RECORDING ARTIST CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM “BIONIC” SUMMER 2010 FIRST SINGLE “NOT MYSELF TONIGHT” WILL PREMIERE ON CHRISTINAAGUILERA.COM AT 6PM EDT ON 3/30, IMPACTS RADIO ON 4/5 AND WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON iTUNES ON 4/13
(New York – NY- March 25th, 2010) – With 30 million albums sold worldwide and the prestigious honor of being the only artist under the age of 30 included in Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the 100 greatest singers of all time, 5 time Grammy Award winner Christina Aguilera has already achieved an unprecedented level of success. Aguilera’s been hard at work in the studio for the past year and is pleased to announce the release of her highly anticipated 4th studio album Bionic (RCA Records) this summer. The first single from “ Bionic” is the fiercely energetic anthem “Not Myself Tonight”, produced by Polow Da Don. The song will premiere on ChristinaAguilera.com at 6pm EDT on 3/30, impacts radio on 4/5 and will be available on iTunes on 4/13.
Bionic features songs co-written by Aguilera along with her much buzzed about collaborations including Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron among others. Aguilera notes, “Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic.” The album also features a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled “Lift Me Up”. The title Bionic reflects Aguilera’s ability to take her range to new levels and use her voice in various ways never heard before.
Aguilera describes the album as a unique mix of many genres and styles of music, “I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don’t think anyone will expect.” In addition to completing the album which was all recorded from her home studio after the birth of her first son, Christina also completed production on her first film, “Burlesque.” The film, which co-stars Cher, Stanley Tucci, and Kristen Bell will be released by ScreenGems this fall.
You know tonight
I am feeling a little out control
is this me
you wanna get crazy
because I don’t give a…
1ST VERSE
I’m out of character
I’m in rare form
and If you really knew me
you’d know its not the norm
B SECTION:
Cause I’m doing things that I normally won’t do
the old me’s gone I feel brand new
and if you don’t like it fuck you
The music’s on and I’m dancing
I’m normally in the corner just standing
I’m feeling unusual
I don’t care cause this is my night
HOOK:
I’m not myself tonight
tonight I’m not the same girl same girl
I’m not myself tonight
tonight I’m not the same girl same girl
