Release Date: March 1
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($34.95) releases of Burlesque which stars Cher and Christina Aguilera. Each will be available to own from March 1st. Extras will include a director commentary, an alternate opening, alternate full musical performances, and a blooper reel. The Blu-ray/DVD Combo release will also include featurettes (“Burlesque is Back!”, “The Performers: The Cast of Burlesque”, “Setting the Stage: Production Design & Performers”, “Inside the Dressing Room: Creating the Burlesque Look”, “The Set List: The Music & Choreography of Burlesque”).
Congratulations to Christina Aguilera for being nominated in the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards for her performance in Burlesque! Christina has gained a nomination in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category for the song “Bound To You” (listen here). The beautiful song was written by Samuel Dixon with lyrics written by Christina and Sia Furler.
Co-star Cher also receives a nomination in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category with her Diane Warren penned track “You Haven’t Seen The Last of Me.”
Not only did Christina and Cher get nominations in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category but the entire cast of Burlesque has been nominated in the Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical category. Congrats!
Be sure to tune in to the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards when it airs on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 8:00 PM EST on NBC from The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Now I am off to Paris with the cast to continue our international press tour.”
