Christina’s manager and chairman of LiveNation, Irving Azoff, spoke out via Twitter about the possibility of Christina leaving RCA and moving to LiveNation.
Christina is under a long term contract with RCA Records! LiveNation is not a record company. Focused on Burlesque right now!
Update:
No one is giving up on Bionic. YLM coming out in UK, video out here now. You aren’t seeing her as she is finishing Burlesque. We won’t give up.
Here is a scan from photographer Sante D’Orazio’s book, Barely Private. You can read more about the book here.

In the four years between Back to Basics and her brand-spanking latest effort, Bionic, Christina Aguilera has not only time-traveled several decades, but also taken quite a stylistic detour, from vintage soul and jazz to neo-futuristic electro-pop. Now, we could interpret this move a few different ways, not the least of which has a whole lot to do with the emergence (and eventual world domination) of Lady Gaga (herself often compared to Aguilera) and Aguilera’s desire to remain culturally and commercially viable after her maternity leave. In many ways, however, Christina’s cyborging of herself is very much in keeping with her career trajectory. This is an artist who (not unlike another blonde pop diva she’s often compared to) has made a career of creative quick-changes, strapping on new looks, sounds and artistic styles like they were hair extensions. Not all of them fit — heck, some of them come off as downright silly (Xtina, anyone?). But flop or perfect fit, all of Aguilera’s personas share at least a few characteristics: they are fun to watch. They are hot (Xtina, anyone?). And honey, they can sing. Take a walk down memory lane with us as we review the many faces of Christina Aguilera.

M.I.A has spoken to MTV News about hitting the studio with Christina Aguilera.
The independent-minded and controversial artist teamed up with the massive popstar and her producer Switch to write the song Elastic Love- which features on Xtina’s Bionic album.
“Elastic Love was the first track I recorded actually – even before I started working on my own album,” M.I.A told us. “It’s the one I made in-between taking time out and having a baby and starting mine. “
Maya continued by comparing the song to her own recent punk rock single. “Born Free was the first song I wrote for my album and that’s so weird now. I look back at the time and I wrote such a nice cute song for Christina – then the next song I wrote was Born Free.”
Asked by us why she agreed to work with Aguilera the “XXXO” singer explained: “Other people were involved who I respect like Peaches and it was like a sea of women coming together to write this new thing. Christina had also had a baby, you know, so it was kind of an interesting situation.”
When Elastic Love leaked websites reported that it featured M.I.A – rather than just Aguilera sounding very similar. And the London born star admitted being disappointed when Christina didn’t want to do her trademark warbling in the studio.
“I really thought I was going to be able to go in there and get her vocals on to the next level and she didn’t want to do it. She was like ‘You might think that’s great because it’s not what you do, but to me I’m really bored of it.”
She added: “It’s interesting getting to work with people who can do things vocally that you cant… but yeah I only heard the song for the first time when everyone else did.”

On Akon…
Focus: Akon is a genius with what he does and how he does it, but Christina changed her look way before Gaga existed, i.e. the Stripped LP. Christina is an incredible singer and amazing business woman. She knew the edge would sell and her “Genie in a Bottle” days were numbered. Justin [Timberlake], Britney [Spears] and Christina all changed around the same time and went left with their styles and sounds. Gaga and Christina comparisons are ridiculous because Gaga is a brand new artist and she had to have taken ingredients from the pop icons before her, including Christina.
AC: As someone who has personally worked with Christina Aguilera, do you feel that she is copying Lady Gaga in any way? Furthermore, do you feel that Christina is an insecure person or insecure with herself as an artist in any way?
Focus: Christina follows her heart. She still makes music from that pure place. If it doesn’t evoke an emotion then, ten to one, she won’t do it. I loved working in her environment. It’s all about vibe and feeling. She didn’t care about what was going on in the mainstream, she was just making great music.
AC: Akon also said he hopes Aguilera’s upcoming album Bionic showcases more of her dynamic voice and less of the up-tempo, electro pop bad-girl anthems typified by her latest single “Not Myself Tonight.” You have actually worked with Christina on Bionic and have a track on the album as well. What can you tell us about her upcoming album?
Focus: Every track she showed me was amazing. I will leave it at that.
AC: What is the name of the song you produced on Christina Aguilera’s Bionic album? If possible, can you describe the song?
Focus: It’s called “Sex For Breakfast”. Co-written by Christina and Noel “Detail” Fisher. Christina picked a track of mine she loved and she became the main instrument in it.
AC: People, including her own fans, have often referred to Christina Aguilera as being “stuck up” and “full of herself”. At the risk of compromising your working relationship with her, is there any truth to this statement?
Focus: Hell no! She was incredibly cool to be around and work with. Christina and her husband, Jordan [Bratman] sent me and my family a Christmas card this past X-mas. Would a stuck up, full of herself person care or even pay any mind to something like that? Don’t believe the hype, people!

PW: Last year Christina Aguilera performed, you two seem to be very much kindred spirits.
Linda: Her and I are funny together — we’re like sumo wrestlers. We both want to win the match, so in the process of battling each other we just laugh the whole time. She wants to be strong, but I’m way stronger than she realizes [laughs]. I love her dearly though. She has so much to offer and as a musician, she’s really changing things up, which I love.
PW: She does strike me as someone who refuses to rest on her laurels.
Linda: Absolutely. [Like on her new album, "Bionic"], she’s toning it down a lot. Everybody knows that Christina can sing, but I’ve been telling her that she doesn’t have to blow horns off every day. So she’s venturing out of her comfort zone and going more electronic, working with Sia, Lady Tron and MIA as producers.
PW: Was it hard for her to turn the dial down?
Linda: I think for Christina, not singing full out is probably the most vulnerable, insecure place for her. So to tone it down and not hit the big notes, that’s a really touchy place for her. But I think it’s great that she’s doing it and taking herself there. Maybe she isn’t reinventing the wheel, but you gotta admit, she’s always trying something different. Best of all, she’s doing it for herself.
